PUUWAI ~ FROM THE HEART

Hui o Mana Ka Puuwai Outrigger Canoe Club was founded in 1992, and is located at the mouth of the Wailua River on the East side of Kauai. Our long-range goal for the club is to establish a permanent Canoe Hale (Home) on the Wailua River, and thereby ensure that generations of children and adults will have the opportunity to learn traditional Hawaiian Cultural Values. These values include Respect, Loyalty, Responsibility, Trust, Friendship, Fairness, and working together as a Team being there for each other.

We strive to teach and perpetuate the cultural significance of the canoe, as well as the importance of preserving the traditions of the past. Our club is committed to both our members and the community at large. We believe that paddling together builds a strong sense of purpose and friendship that is hard to find elsewhere. The men and women of our club have a commitment to furthering each other physically and mentally, looking out for the well being of one another and together enjoying one of the greatest blessings on earth.
