BRIGHT STARS Double Hull Canoe Race
Pu`uwai Canoe Club realizes that giving back to the community is part of what makes Kauai so special, and we strive to contribute where we can. As part of these efforts, Pu`uwai hosts the
annual BRIGHT STARS event for persons with disabilities. We "rig up" several double-hulled canoes to paddle up the Wailua River for some great outdoor fun. We can accommodate people with many different kinds of disabilities, so this event is open to all disabled persons in the community who would like to participate. Kids as well as Adults are welcome, and minors must have a waiver signed by parent or guardian. In addition to the paddling, lunch is served and there are
GAMES & PRIZES. There is no charge for people with disabilties. Members of the paddling community volunteer their time to make this event possible and to ensure safety. There are experienced paddlers in every canoe, so let us know if you'd like to be a volunteer. For more information contact Brian Curll, President of Pu`uwai Canoe Club.
